An accurate digital readout backgauge on a shear may seem to be an expensive option. However, the setup time and downstream benefits can quickly justify the investment. Save marking out.

1) The epic back gauge controller is capable of positioning to within 0.1mm of a preset position. Forward and reverse speed of 100mm per second.

2) Two gauge units used per machine eliminating and chance of crabbing, while allowing better load distribution, especially when operator is working at one end of machine.

3) Ballscrews & linear ball brushings used, providing rolling rather than sliding linear movement. This results in extremely low friction, smooth operation, low maintenance and long life.

4) All bearings have wiper seals to guard against contamination.

5) Two ball screws and Eight self – aligning brushes used, resulting in long trouble free life.

6) All items used are standard stock, ensuring readily available spare parts.

7) A toothed timing belt drives units, allowing precise tandem operation. This ensures accuracy is maintained across full width of machine and no noisy chain.

8) Position repeatability is within 0.1mm

Pan –Brake Gauging

Pan-Brake back gauge operates through the ten station controller, programming the Pan, the operator is asked for the bend angle required, the open clamp distance, and the backgauge position, this is one of the Ten programs. Each controller has 99 sets of Ten fitted, the operator has 99 sets of ten, which is stored for later use.
